Does India have a proper method of Inventorization of e-waste?
You cannot deny the fact that
India is one of the biggest e- waste producers in the world. We do not have
proper data and monitoring mechanism for our e-waste. According to global
e-waste monitor 2017 states that India is at 5th position for
producing e-waste globally and annually generates 2 million tons of e-waste. In
March 2018, Delhi high court directed the Union ministry of environment, forest
and climate change to provide the data on e-waste produced annually and its
management. The last projection was made for 2010 i.e. 0.8 ton e-waste would be
generated by India, since then no projection has been made by State pollution
control boards.
